The original Eee PC was announced in 2007 and was known as the 701, it was spoken almost certainly one of the most computers shortly after its launch.
The particulars of the EEE PC 701 were not so impressive, it featured pretty basic technology. The reason it was popular? Well, because it is so small, and very inexpensive. The fact that the early versions only ran Linux did not seem to be people either delayed. Asus has, however ship the EEE PC with Windows, soit was possible to install windows on it yourself if you wanted.
